A’ Puddara 2011, Carricante di Tenuta di Fessina, selezionato per il concorso BEST ITALIAN WINE AWARDS – i 50 migliori vini d’Italia

Ai membri del comitato – a fronte di un rigoroso tasting alla cieca, che si svolgerà a Milano dal 2 al 4 luglio 2013 – spetterà il compito di selezionare, tra oltre 200 referenze, i 50 migliori vini italiani, stilando una classifica in base ai punteggi raggiunti. Tale classifica sarà poi resa pubblica, attraverso una premiazione, il giorno 23 settembre 2013 a Milano.

A’ Puddara, DOC Etna Bianco. A’ Puddara is a wine dedicated to Sicily. Like the Seven Sisters in the sky it is a small continent with a beating heart in the middle of the Mediterranean sea. A’ Puddara, like in the Ovidio poem, means hen, mothering woman for fishermen and peasant; a sign to show the way, to direct their lives. If you imagine a fisherman coming home, you will see him looking up at the volcano, where he finds the seven sisters exactly where the carricante vineyard is. It a rigorous and outlined wine, like the mount Etna rising up in the night… Great news for Tenuta di Fessina: A’ Puddara 2011, Etna Bianco DOC single-variety Carricante, produced at 3300 feet above the sea level in Santa Maria di Licodia, has been selected to participate in the next edition of the BEST ITALIAN WINE AWARDS – the 50 best wines of Italy. A’ Puddara will be evaluated by a panel of tasting, composed by Luca Gardini and Andrea Grignaffini, creators of “Best Italian Wine Adwards”, Daniel Cernilli (www.doctorwine.it., Corriere della Sera), Enzo Vizzari (L’Espresso), Raoul Salama (Revue du Vin de France), Tim Atkin MW (The Wall Street Journal, The Sunday Times) and Christy Canterbury MW (Decanter, Wine Enthusiast). The members of the committee – after a rigorous blind tasting, which will be held in July – will select, among more than 200 labels, the 50 best Italian wines, drawing up a ranking based on the scores achieved by individual wines. This ranking will then be published through an awards ceremony on the day September 23, 2013 in Milan.
